Interested in creating media with your students? Talk to your Instructional Technology Specialist to learn about more of your options!
At Bedford High School you and your students can:
- create a video from still pictures using iPhoto
- remix and edit footage from (some) videos within United Streaming
- film your own content and edit it with iMovie
- create and publish VoiceThreads
- record audio with or without photos using GarageBand or Audacity
iMovie '09 changes you should know about:
- edits are made in "real-time"
- multiple projects can be open simultaneously
- "event library" holds all original content before and during editing process without duplication
- content from multiple sources can be stored in one event folder
- there are 20 video effects available which can be applied to any video clip in the project library (double click on the clip and launch the "inspector" window to access them)
- advanced tools can be made visible by going to iMovie - Preferences - show advanced tools
- make cutaways or greenscreen effects by dropping a still picture onto any clip within the project
- use the favorites tool to identify, mark and select clips quickly - this process can help scrub through the footage very quickly
- reject video that is unnecessary and move it to trash to free up harddrive space
- organize video clips by "keyword" for quicker editing
Resources available to classrooms:
