George Edwards, Principal, Bedford High School
George Edwards brings 27 years of experience as a teacher, coach, assistant principal and principal to Bedford High School. He started his career in New Jersey teaching and coaching in the high school from which he graduated in Medford. In 1984, he and his family moved to NH where he taught, coached and served as assistant principal at Milford AREA Senior High School. He has also been an advisor for clubs and activities such as the National Honor Society, ski club, drama club, as well as a class advisor. Mr. Edwards has been a high school principal for the past 18 years in 3 New Hampshire high schools. He was selected to plan and open Bow High School in 1996. Mr. Edwards has been named NH High School Coach of the Year in Football, has served as the President of the NHIAA, has been named the 2001 NH High School Principal of the Year and in 2005 was selected to be a Breaking Ranks Principal for the National Association of Secondary School Principals. He has been a featured presenter at many state, regional and national workshops on high school programs. Mr. Edwards has been married for 25 years to his wife Mary-Anne. He has two sons, Grant who graduated from Princeton University in 2006 and Geoff who is a student at Middlebury College. He enjoys running, jazz music, sports and spending time with his family.
