Coaching Staff

Baseball:

Craig Blahnik

Craig Blahnik comes to Bedford from West Running Brook Middle School in Derry and will teach Science and coach Varsity Baseball. Craig’s played travel baseball and high school baseball (pitcher/3 rd /center field) growing up in Ohio. In college he played intramural baseball at Miami (Ohio) University. After having coached travel baseball in Ohio and at West Running Brook, Craig is looking forward to working wit h high school athletes at Bedford.

Nicholas Bellows

Nick Bellows comes to Bedford as the school’s first Librarian. Nick played baseball at Spaulding High School before moving on to Plymouth State University where he participated in the intramurals program. Nick went on to the University of North Carolina where he received his Master’s degree in Library Science.

Boys' Lacrosse:

Matthew Guerard

Matthew Guerard comes to Bedford High School, teaching Wellness and coaching Varsity Boys Lacrosse. Matt attended Catawba College where he played men’s lacrosse. After graduating he continued on at Catawba as an assistant coach. Most recently Matt was a physical education instructor at Pelham Memorial School and served as an assistant varsity lacrosse coach and assistant varsity hockey coach at Pinkerton Academy.

Girls' Lacrosse:

Jill Bartlett

Jill Bartlett comes to Bedford High School as a Wellness teacher and will coach Varsity Girls Lacrosse. Jill attended Springfield College where she was a member of the women’s lacrosse team. Since graduat ing in 2002 she has coached junior varsity volleyball and varsity lacrosse, most recently at H. Frank Carey High School in Franklin Square, New York.

Softball:

Mel Keeler

Melissa Keeler comes to Bedford High School as an administrative assistant and will serve as the Varsity Softball Coach. Mel has participated in this sport throughout her life, having played four years at Concord High School and continuing at the collegiate level at Southern New Hampshire University as a pitcher and at first base. Mel also has been involved with coaching the “Comets” youth softball team and is a member of their Board of Directors.

Boys' Tennis:

Shawna Morley

Shawna Morley will serve as the Varsity Boys Tennis coach this year. Currently, Shawna is a physical education teacher at the Green Acres School in Manchester. Having coached tennis at Trinity and at Sanborn she most recently coached at Manchester West High School. There she developed a successful program, winning the state “L” championship in 2005. Additionally Shawna has coached privately and for clubs since 1990.

Girls' Tennis:

Peter Gagnon

Peter Gagnon comes to Bedford High School as a Science teacher and will be coaching Girls varsity Tennis. Peter participated in tennis while at Nashua High School, where he served as team captain. Shortly thereafter he was an instructor with the Milford Recreation Department. In 2007 he assisted with the Timberlane Regional High School tennis program.

Boys' Outdoor Track & Field:

Derek Stank

Derek Stank comes to Bedford High School where he will teach Wellness and work as an Assistant Football coach and as Varsity Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field coach. Having a solid background in those sports as a high school athlete, Derek continued at the University of New Hampshire where in 2006, as a defensive end, he served as team Captain. In track & Field his concentration was on the shot put, discus and javelin.

Noah Pion

Noah Pion attended the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Pedagogy with an emphasis in Physical Education. He will work at Bedford High School in the Special Education Department. Noah was a three-sport athlete in high school excelling in football, track & field, and basketball. He will be working as an assistant coach in Football, indoor track and outdoor track.

Girls' Outdoor Track & Field:

Emily Blahnik

Emily Blahnik currently teaches at Memorial School in Bedford coaches Girls Cross-Country and Girls Winter Track and will coach Girls Spring Track & Field at Bedford High School. As an athlete in high school Emily participated in the majority of track and field events with an emphasis on distance racing. She continues to enjoy running and occasionally competes in road racing.

Heidi Barb

Heidi Barb will be joining the Bedford High School staff as a Wellness teacher and Assistant Coach of the Girls Spring Track and Field team. Prior to coming to New Hampshire Heidi worked as a physical education / health teacher and coach in Oregon. Most recently Heidi was a teacher and coach in Westbrook, Maine. As a member of the Westbrook High School boys’ and girls’ track coaching staff she specialized in sprints, hurdles, relays, long jump and triple jump.
